Scott Thomson is an actor in Los Angeles, and the expressions that came out of his visage were astounding. I’m only posting a few here. As with everything I’ve been shooting of late, these were shot on a Mamiya RZ 67 Pro IId, the difference between my recent work and previous digital work done on dSLRs is night and day, which is to be expected when making that equipment jump.

The RZ is what I used to shoot everything on, I kept it knowing that someday my career would afford me a way to shoot on it again. Now I’m waiting for the day when I can shoot on it uncropped full-frame without film…

I attended high school with Scott. We were both involved in drama club and a variety of stage productions. Scott was often cast in “elderly” roles due to his ability to emote with expressions, regardless of dialogue. I love how your shots capture the intensity of his expressions. Truly awesome shots.
