Happy Pseudo-Birthday, Jesus!  I’m told that noted historical figure Jesus was actually born in May, but nonetheless, I like giving and receiving presents and eating massive amounts of food while hanging with the people I love just as much as the rest of you do, so why argue?

I’m a big fan of religious iconography, where else can (did) an artist get paid vast sums to create images that border on insanity?  It’s certainly a played-out theme in modern times to parody religious iconography — I did a naked Jesus shoot in my friend’s attic back in college…  That may be why this 2008 shot with model Nick Piston and makeup artist Trefor Proud hasn’t seen the light of day until today…  I suppose it makes more sense to show a baby Jesus on December 25th, but I have yet to find someone willing to give me their baby.
